Phase 1 - Spring: new moon to first quarter: garnet, carnelian, moonstone.
Phase 2 - Summer: first quarter to full moon: aventurine, pyrite.
Phase 3 - Autumn: full moon to third quarter: citrine, smoky quartz.
Phase 4 - Winter: third quarter to dark moon: lepidolite, fluorite (purple).

Talking about menstruation was/is often regarded as taboo in many cultures.
Taboo actually means "sacred" in Polynesian language.

Ancient people felt mystery and sacredness in women's body since their womb embraces cycles of birth and death. That is to say, ovulation is the beginning of life or death to welcome new life. Ancient people saw this cycle as seasons. Especially native American considered women were strongly connected to the Mother Earth. At the same time, they are connected to the moon energy.

As described, each phase of the moon and cycle in women can be divided into four periods just like seasons.

Moon phase 1 (1st week) New Moon, bleeding - Spring
• The period for death and rebirth.
• The energy goes inward.
• Time to embrace quiet time.
• Time to meditate.
• It is important to leave the woman alone.
• Being gentle to the womb means being gentle to the earth (womb= shikyu, earth=chikyu. they sound similar in Japanese).

Crystals for Spring (the 1st week)

• Carnelian: Balancing womb and helping creativity in sacral chakra.
• Moonstone: Balancing emotion and synchronise the energy of the moon and body.

Women in the first week are suggested to focus on letting go of beliefs (with their blood) and thoughts that no longer serve them. In other words, it is time to get ready for attracting something new that they would like to manifest. Many ancient women also used to return their blood to the Mother Earth with gratitude. The women are powerful entities during this period to hold possibilities for unknown and new just like seeds on the earth. Lots of ancient women had abilities to foresee what is happening in the tribe that they belonged to by drawing the energy from the Mother Earth during this period. They were so powerfully grounded that men were not meant to be near them.

Moon phase 2 (2nd week) Expanding - Summer
• The energy goes outward
• Just like Summer, the day is longer and the animals become active. The women in the 2nd week are the same.

Crystals for Summer (the 2nd week)

• Aventurine: assists to boost confidence and optimistic feelings. It is called a lucky stone or a stone of love. Aventurine is beneficial to those who wish to be pregnant in terms of emotion and energy level.
• Pyrite: Helps to ground this energy and purges old negative beliefs and fears. Leaving a powerful and creative space.

They become very active and happy. The energy is moving toward ovulation therefore they tend to be more creative than any other seasons. They are full of energies. They can believe everything is great in the 2nd week. They shine and attract what they have desired. As it is approaching to the full moon, women feel the energy within them is expanding and free. This energy helps manifestation in life in general.

Moon phase 3 (3rd week) Feeling change, letting go, reflection- Autumn
• Just like coloured leaves in autumn, it is time that women desire 'change'.
• When they desire 'something new', they know that they need to let go of something that they do not desire.
• It is not time to let go yet, but they know it is coming.
• It is time to start thinking about what they could possibly let go.
• Physically, it is the great time for Danshari (de-cluttering in more spiritual sense, this is a Buddhist word). Danshari helps clearing energy flow.
• It is also a harvest season.
• The women reflect what they have achieved in the past 2weeks, and giving themselves a little treat or praising themselves is ideal. Telling themselves "Well done" "Congratulations" etc.
• The energy is calm and gentle just like a mother bird sitting on an egg. Very motherly energy

• Citrine: helping to go with flow. helping to let go of old energy. giving calming energy.

Moon phase 4 (4th week) Rest, withdraw, contract, clarify - Winter
• Time to rest. (hibernate)
• Clarifying of what they do not want and let go, therefore they push the energy of unwanted.
• Very sensitive and can be irritable in order to eliminate stale energies.
• It is time to be ready for another cycle.
• By feeling this irritation or even anger, they discover what they truly desire.
• Getting ready to let go of unwanted with blood.
• It is recommended to have lots of sleep during this winter period as the body temperature goes up due to hormonal change.

• Lepidolite: calming the mind, helping mood swing.
